A special 1990 edition of Australian Smocking and Embroidery features the work of some of the best designers in Australia and New Zealand. This soft cover magazine is illustrated with photographs and drawings in colour and black and white. Includes a 40 page guide to Smocking Graphs and Instructions and foldout patterns for Night Lights, Harlequin and Burst of Spring.

Fifteen Australians and one New Zealander were each given a design from an early edition of Australian Smocking and Embroidery and asked to recreate a square yoke garment and adapt the same design to a bishop dress. The result is a treasure trove of dresses suitable for all tastes and occasions.

The contrasts are rich and powerful. Visually the four main components of the book are designed to stand alone: the garments, the colour articles, the graphs and the photographs. The instructional graphs are designed as a book in themselves. Each one gives comprehensive directions suitable for both beginner and advanced smockers.

Inserted inside the graph book are the templates for beautiful collars, plus the nightgown pattern pieces for Night lights.

This spectacular book was published by Country Bumpkins Publications of Australia. Very good condition with almost no shelf wear to covers. It measures 8.25″ (21 cm) by 11″ (27.5 cm) and contains 64 pages, plus the insert pattern sheets.

The book has full color illustrations on almost every page, giving step by step directions and suggestions for adding the perfect final touch to every project you might wish to undertake.
