BABY DAISY is a smocked, Bishop style, Dress and Bubble/Romper pattern in sizes Newborn to 24 months. It was developed as a companion to the original “DAISY”, the smocked dress pattern that contains the larger sizes for girl’s from 2 to 8 years.
This pattern also features my innovation of having no sleeve seams through the smocked yoke …… No more broken pleater needles or distorted stitches when negotiating past bulky seams with this version.
Removing the seams requires a continuous length along the neckline – For this reason, the main pattern piece has to be cut down the length, not selvedge to selvedge.
I know this will challenge a few long held beliefs that cutting down the length will end in chaos …. believe me … it won’t. In fact, it produces plumper, straighter pleats without any enhancement from interfacing or spray starch.
Give it a try – I guarantee you won’t want to go back to a Bishop with seams.
