13 – Au Papillon Threads
Metallic embroidery threads add a special magic to your stitching but some can be difficult to use, snagging, shredding and stripping and therefore should only be used for couching and in short lengths.
There are many different brands on the market but one of the best is Au Papillon. Available in a range of metallic finishes, this thread comes on an easy to use spool and is much more robust than many similar threads, allowing you to stitch repeatedly through fabric.
