A few words from Anna Scott about Inspirations issue 71
If you are like me, stitching is so much more than simply passing a needle though fabric. It is at times relaxing and fun, or it can be challenging. It may be very sociable or almost meditative and best of all, there is always something new around the corner. I find the comfort and enjoyment of curling up in a favourite chair to ‘play’ with threads equal to the satisfaction of sitting at my worktable while a complex piece slowly takes shape under my needle.
The projects in this issue encompass all of those aspects. The charming Kokeshi glasses case on page 16 and the delightful Sweet Baby Jane outfit on page 82 are both practical and fun to stitch. If you are in the mood for pampering a favourite four-legged friend, you will love Puppylove on page 36.
To have a go at, or just admire something a little more challenging, see the stunning Silver Star by new young embroiderer, Jennifer Spindler on page 50. Perhaps it is because of my Scandinavian heritage that I find the simple, stylised design on Alison Snepp’s pulled thread table topper Chicken Run on page 28 really special.”
